some reflections about the israeli art

I had todayprobably the most boring classes ever... It is called the 20th Israeli art. The art itself is not that boring. The way professor presents the topic is so uninteresting people can imagine. We are sittin in a room, the windows are covered, watchin' the slides and she is talkin so slow, so strange (although I like the british accent her is really horrible). I don't want to be unfair - she has a huge knowledge and probably she likes what she does but she is not tallented enough to present the art. The result sie achievs unintentionally is that I am not interested in the Israeli art almost at all. Fortunately some of the artists defends themselves pretty good - like Adi Nes or this blog. It will be continued...

gonna be difficult?

Well somethin has started... No one knows how it gonna be. Next few days will show. Thing we can be sure of is that IDF will respond strongly and surely to every act of aggression against the State and its civilians. As it respond already. Israeli Minister of defence Ehud Barak: "We have no choice, the time has come for us to fight ". To read more please check comments by Amos Harel and another one. Interesting thing to me was to hear from my host that the place where I live is only 70km from the border with Gaza. Israel is a small country indeed. The second thing as well interesing as the first was to hear the far sound of the jet engines flying above in the sky.

If you find links which I provided already not enough here you have some info from CNN and al Jazeera .

Okay let's change the topic. This is a very good commercial. worth watching till the last second.

rain

Today it was really stormy here. It has started to rain yesterday and today almost during the whole day it was pretty much the same. Kinda monsoon rain - wall of water you can get totally wet in couple of minutes. It is nice untill you're sittin in a nice cozy place with roof and big windows so that you can watch what is going outside. When you go out you feel strange, sky is grey all the time some rain falls, wind blows really strong and it gets cold very fast.

There are two kinds of rain in Israel one is necessary and welcomed with happiness, the other with fear and consternation.

Channukach sameach!

It's a Channukah time:D Yay!!! And I am here exactly on the spot!!! Okay maybe not exactly cus I am not sittin in J-Town but still:)

Or if you want to listen to something more traditional:

what is funny that totally by coincidence I have to write a paper about the Jewish Calendar and Channukach itself, so rigth now I am sittin and browsing a few hundred of pages looking for some inspiration and information.

Meanhwile I read about the situation in Israel when the cease fire with Hamas has come to an end. Nothing nice... http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1048368.html

well: "not by might, nor by power but by My spirit, saith the Lord" (Zechariah 4:6)

I'll be back

tomorrow Im going to the south - for the second time during the last two weeks. It took me a while to be back here, but I hope from now on I'll fast mention about all the events which occured till now and all which will happen in close future. It is all because Israel is so crazy and fulfilled with unexpected moments and experiences.

Nazareth

If somebody is interested in Nazareth or want to be faimiliar with a bit ridiculous* point of view on the history I suggest to check out the links I provided. There is also some Israeli point of view on the issue.
Basically you can easily find three things in the city. Churches, the shuq and the rest which includes all the things I didn't enlist.
_______
*
why I wrote ridiculous? It makes me mad when somebody tries to rewrite the history by saying that one side is good and the other is bad. Life is not that easy/simple.

This picture reminds story of Jonas I presume... but if you will have any other connotations I won't be surprised;)
This abstraction is my most favourite one among many others which comes from all over the world and are devoted to Saint Mary. You can enter the Church of the Annunciation and you will find many interesting paintings, mozaiks, etc. The only thing which is strange is the building made of concrete, looking inside lika a bunker. Kinda empty shell. No spirituality. Place for tourists, that's all. This is my opinion. Maybe some people like such a places. Who knows?

Fulla

when here nothing really bad happens not so far away from here...

Me and some of my friends are considering the trip to Hebron (and the official municipal web page). According to what my friends said it is better not to go there. Why? Cus the settlers are not in the mood and they are a bit unfriendly and hostile. Another reason - the soldiers or police who are responsible for the safety of the people who are there are not interested in this much. To read about all of the reasons click "Ha'aretz" Petition: Enforce Law in Hebron!
No matter what I m not going to give up.

These movies are stunningly sad...

Don Vito i Izabella

suggested music: Aris San or another one :)
Who is he? Who makes me laugh with his funny jokes and amazes me with interesting stories? Thou shall feel no fear when He is nearby. Thou shall wish him (them) all the best in the upcoming months and later on.
Let me introduce Witek aka (De) Wito, at home/for friends - don (Vito;) - at work - journalist. Witek is a boyfriend of Iza.

He came to Israel to meet with his girlfriend and to travel a bit around to write some articles and reportage from this area.
