being abroad but not exactly

Guess guys what was my main concern during last couple of days. Studies at TAU, or maybe the weather, food, which is perfect here? None of these things. During last few days I was almost praying for a miracle. Day by day checking the download status which was horrible slow and in the end didn't succeed.
So today I have visited The Third Ear Store/Haozen Hashlishit which is the biggest music/dvd store in Israel. You can rent there a movie for 25 NIS per night, or make some subscription (I did one which allows me to rent ten movies for 16.9 NIS each cus I plan to watch israeli movies with english subtitles). And I got the thing which I wanted so madly. The Crucible. And you know what? I am disappointed, cus I expected something better than I got. This movie sucks a bit. Of course it has some nice moments, some parts of the scenario are well written, actors play good in general. But something is missing there, lack of tension and some easily noticeable holes in the structure of narration are a bit annoying. Because of that it was really hard to me to focus on the movie. The worst thing is about to come now - i have to write an comparative essay about this movie and a TV serial...

first of all I need to rethink a couple of things

and the music will help me (I hope)

thus I will become another John Proctor?

inner surface of my thoughts/reflections

Take me out tonight
Where there's music and there's people
And they're young and alive

Adir's flatmate

This is Liat. Adir's flatmate. She works in the Television Company dunno what exactly she does there but she is quite busy both with her work nad her studies. Liat is well-known from cooking really great things. Whenever she prepares something it is guaranteed that it will be a delicious and yummy food (btw. on the pic you can see a chocolate cake for Itai, Liat's boy). But I wouldn't be fair without mentioning spaghetti which I tried today - and it was really good:) and very tasty;) - prepared by Adir.

my new friend from IL/US

This is Michelle. Girl who was born in the kibbutz in Israel and moved to the States in the age of 13. Now she travels from IL to the USA and the other way round. She fluently speaks both Hebrew and English. I must admit I am jealous of it. Maybe some day I will be able to speak in Hebrew as well:)

a lot to think about

Yesterday I met some of my friends from the exchange in which i participated last April nad May. It was nice, we ate quite good hummus, drank some lemonade and talked a bit about politics. Left wingers vs right wingers;) all eating pita and hummus, drinking lemonade - kinda funny situation. :)

The lawn all over the whole campus is just amazing. You don't wanna do nothing more than to lay and take a nap. Kinda off topic (a bit;) this Magda's green bag is also cool:)

some of pics I really like

muezzin but not only he

The new bridge in Jerusalem. Some people are really disappointed with this construction. I have some mixed feelings but really not much, I think although it may not fit in 100 percent's to the area it gives a new energy to the urban space, refresh it and and change into the better than it was.

We were today in the Jerusalem. Although the trip was kinda okay and guide was good (this is the guide)

I enjoyed the most the meeting with my three friends from the J-Town: unexpected meeting with Yohay at Yad VaShem and one planed already with David ve (and) Yarden nearby the Western Wall. The meeting with Yohay was so exciting beacuse I thought my bonds with this guy was nothing but a occasional due to the project and now thanks that we met together accidentaly I have his phone number and he has my and we can hang around a bit whenever I'll be in Jerushalaim. Which is always nice when people are cool and have this something. Btw. mazal tov! for the Yohay's and his wife and their new child!!!:)

Yohai and me

Thanks to those guys my fifth stay in Jerusalem wasn't boring. We talked a lot about tensions which are in J-Town, about their opinions on how to solve the whole conflict, and their experience from Jewish - Arab neighbourhood where there live.
So good to see them once again.

David, me, Yarden

There was one thing which I had foreseen somehow it will move me - cus it moves me whenever I see it, whenever hear about it, think...

...

But there was another thing which moved me so strongly and so deeply I didn't expected.
This "thing"/feeling I find really powerful doesn't matter whether you are religious or a secular, Jew, Christian or Muslim or whatever. The aura of the place with this. Okay, you may say, but the guy on the tower is a Muslim an he sings something like "allah akbar and there is no other god but allah and the Muhammad is the prophet". Sooo, what? As long as it creates some unique aura of the moment and it doesn't leads to violence it is okay. I was impressed so maybe it will impress you also.

some photos

Tel Aviv is flourishing organism with a variety of attractions I hope I will be able to give as many impressions as it is needed to touch this powerful city enough to understand what I mean by saying I LOVE TEL AVIV!

Iza and Magda met at King George Street, girls had a short break after sightseeing and shopping at Shuk HaCarmel and in Jaffo.

This is Adir. Guy who was/is/and I hope will always be so nice to help me here.

The dog from the neighbourhood

It has amazing eyes!

The fountain near to Brodetsky Street

There are a lot of nice buildings around whole Tel Aviv - I'm gonna take as many pictures as possible of those which I find the most interesting, unique (which dosen't mean that I will avoid taking pictures of those which are not that unique or a bit too usual, don't worry:)

Casa Brasil

Dorms at the Einstein Street

newspaper

This feeling is a disaster - I want to read a POLISH newspaper, paper version... and there is none... of course there are quite a few of nice Israeli newspapers like Haaretz IN PAPER but there are in Hebrew which is nice to look and so on but I am not able to read and understand it yet.... Maybe I should invest some money and buy The Jerusalem Post, just to read it, then?

Btw. regular Nescafe (classic, which i really don't like) is better here than in PL. Smoother. More tasty. More real. Maybe this is the answer why? It looks like I accidently opened some web page which is totally focused on anti-Israeli propaganda. It is sick. Guys buy even more of those products enlisted there. Be proud Israel supporters! This is my answer to this stupid boycott idea.

The magazine which I handle here is a Soldiers Magazine, you won't believe what they advertise and publish there. From wine, via shoelaces, to combat knifes. Photos includes couples of beautiful male and female soldiers. Photos of commando looking though guys with all you can imagine soldier can carry on him. And some official looking generals and colonels. Iza who received that thing from some guy on The Shuk HaKarmel told me that this guy described it as a "fascistic shit". Probably he was right.
